1 Our agreement with you
These Beta Terms govern your use of Letterhenge's pre-launch website and limited beta application provided by Letterhenge LLC (“Letterhenge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). You agree to these Terms when you affirmatively accept them during account creation or another acceptance process presented by us. If you do not agree, do not create an account or participate in the beta. A public website link alone does not establish that you have accepted these Terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. These Terms do not replace any separate consent required by law for a particular use of personal information.
For the iOS application distributed through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the licensed application, including the scope of services it covers. These Terms supply additional conditions for the Letterhenge service and individual orders; they do not replace or reduce rights under that license or mandatory law. Letterhenge LLC is the application provider for its app. Apple does not provide Letterhenge's correspondence service. TestFlight participation is also subject to Apple's applicable TestFlight terms; these service Terms do not replace them.
2 Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering this agreement. Provide accurate account information and keep the information needed for verification, billing, and delivery current. A public username or display name need not be your legal name, but you must not impersonate someone or misrepresent your authority to act for them.
You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity you authorize through your account. Do not share access in a way that compromises another person's correspondence or personal information. Contact support@letterhenge.com promptly if you suspect misuse. You are not automatically responsible for activity to the extent applicable law places responsibility elsewhere.
We may require reasonable verification for sensitive account actions, address changes, and deletion. Verification of an email address or account does not establish that a person is trustworthy or that every profile statement is accurate.
3 The limited beta service
Letterhenge's intended initial commercial offering is digital correspondence and letters composed online for Lob printing and postal delivery. The beta makes only the features actually enabled for your test available. Account creation may be closed, and a signup screen, invitation, sample price, or feature preview does not establish that access or a live service is available.
Digital features may be limited to profiles, relationships, and private drafts in a particular build. Saving a draft is different from sending a letter. Where sending or delayed delivery is enabled, delivery settings and processing queues affect availability; a status message is not proof that a particular person read a letter.
Live printed fulfillment and real-money payments are not enabled through this beta. Separately enabled Stripe and Lob sandbox exercises simulate payment or print workflows; they do not charge a real payment method or mail a physical letter. The independent Address Vault does not enable live address enrollment or fulfillment through the current beta runtime.
Beta access is for testing and evaluation. Features may be incomplete, unavailable, changed, or withdrawn; access may expire, and an experiment may fail to save or deliver information. Use synthetic information for sandbox exercises unless you have been specifically instructed to supply real information for an authorized purpose. Keep an independent copy of material important to you.
Letterhenge is not an emergency communication service or a substitute for a legally prescribed method of service or notice. Do not rely on the beta to meet an urgent legal or safety deadline.
4 Your content and the permissions needed to operate
You retain the rights you have in letters, drafts, profile text, images, and other content you provide. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit that content and have it processed and delivered as you request.
You grant Letterhenge a nonexclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, display to authorized recipients, and, for an authorized print test, prepare and submit print documents for test processing to provide the enabled beta feature. We may allow our hosting, printing, delivery, and support providers to perform the portions of this processing needed for their roles. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content or authorize its use in advertising.
Operational permissions continue as needed to complete authorized test processing, maintain permitted correspondence history, investigate a dispute, or meet legal obligations, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable deletion rights. Deleting your account does not create an unrestricted right for us to reuse your content.
Letters you receive remain subject to the sender's and other rights holders' rights. Access to a letter does not give you permission to republish it, exploit it commercially, or expose someone's private information unlawfully. We cannot guarantee that a recipient will keep a delivered letter confidential.
5 Acceptable correspondence and conduct
Use Letterhenge only for lawful correspondence that respects other people's rights and choices. You must not:
Threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, defraud, or repeatedly contact someone who has declined contact, or evade a block, suspension, or receiving restriction.
Send unlawful threats, hate-based abuse, material exploiting children, nonconsensual intimate material, sexually explicit or pornographic material, or content encouraging violence or criminal conduct.
Impersonate another person, falsify sender authority, mislead someone about an order, or use another person's account or address without authorization.
Share private addresses or other personal information to expose someone to harassment or harm, or infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
Use the service for unsolicited bulk mail, spam, fraudulent solicitations, or unlawful marketing.
Send malware, attack the service, circumvent access or payment controls, obtain another person's private drafts, scrape private information, or disrupt service operations.
Submit printed material that violates applicable postal restrictions or the restrictions of the fulfillment provider for that order.
The intended printed-letter product is limited to supported printed documents. It does not accept goods, hazardous materials, or other enclosures for mailing. We may refuse content or orders that create a material safety, legal, fraud, or fulfillment risk.
Report suspected abuse or infringement to support@letterhenge.com, identifying the account, letter or order reference, the concern, and a way to contact you. Provide only the personal information necessary to explain the issue. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the relevant emergency service.
We may investigate reports, restrict contact, remove or restrict offending content, decline an order, or suspend or terminate an account as appropriate. We do not promise that every letter is reviewed before delivery or that every abuse attempt will be prevented. Where appropriate, we may preserve relevant evidence or report conduct to the competent authorities.
6 Address handling and receiving permission
Private delivery information is handled separately from ordinary public profile information, as described in the Privacy Policy. A separately enabled print test can disclose its document and destination to Lob. You must not assume a test document is anonymous or that a separate Address Vault eliminates every main-application address copy.
Provide only information you are entitled to use. Do not use another person's actual address for a sandbox exercise without authorization. Address validation does not establish that a person controls the location or would receive mail there.
Receiving permissions and mailbox settings govern only the features to which they apply. Changing them is not account deletion and does not erase stored documents, operational history, or an independently held copy.
7 Printing tests and future live orders
A Lob sandbox request, simulated payment, preview PDF, pending order, or test status does not establish that a physical letter has been printed or mailed. A timeout or uncertain provider response does not establish that a test request failed; its outcome may need reconciliation before another request is made.
These Beta Terms do not offer a live printed-letter order, a delivery date, or a postal delivery guarantee. If live printed orders are later introduced, their price, supported destinations and specifications, payment terms, cancellation conditions, and available remedies must be disclosed before an order is confirmed. A later live service is not activated by an existing test permission or test checkout.
8 Beta payments
We do not charge a fee to participate in this limited beta or offer real-money purchases through it. Digital purchase exercises in a TestFlight build are for testing and must be free to the tester, including an exercise reached immediately through a link from the build. Use only provider-specified sandbox payment details.
A displayed test amount, balance, credit, subscription, or receipt is not a debt, payment authorization for a real charge, monetary asset, or purchased entitlement. These Terms create no recurring billing, minimum purchase obligation, balance-expiry rule, or subscription. They do not cancel rights under any valid separate purchase agreement, if one exists.
Any future paid service requires separately disclosed commercial terms and authorization. Enrolling in the beta does not authorize us to charge you later.
9 Cancellations refunds and test problems
Because the beta offers no real-money orders, a sandbox cancellation or refund changes test records rather than returning money. We do not promise a live cancellation cutoff, replacement mailing, refund deadline, or automatic payment-provider refund under these Beta Terms.
If you believe a real charge was made in error, contact support@letterhenge.com with the transaction reference and issue so it can be investigated. Do not send full card credentials. Nothing in these Terms restricts a nonwaivable refund right, a valid remedy under a separate purchase agreement, or your right to dispute an unauthorized or incorrect charge.
10 Our materials and service changes
Letterhenge and its licensors retain their rights in the service software, branding, interface, and materials we provide. You may use them through the service as authorized. Do not copy or exploit them beyond the permission supplied by the applicable license or law.
We may maintain, update, change, or discontinue a beta feature or end the beta. We will give notice where reasonably practicable of a material change affecting participants, but may act sooner to address a security, safety, or legal problem. A service change does not remove an accrued right or a remedy required by law.
11 Suspension termination and deletion
You may stop using Letterhenge and request account deletion through support@letterhenge.com. The beta does not currently provide a functioning self-service deletion screen. Suspension, mailbox closure, uninstalling the app, and stopping participation are different from deleting server-held information. The Privacy Policy describes retained correspondence and identifiers, pending cleanup, and separate Vault and provider records; a deletion request does not by itself mean all those records have been erased.
We may restrict or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, threats to safety or security, fraud, or inability to continue providing the service lawfully. Where reasonably practicable and appropriate, we will explain the restriction and allow you to contact support about it. We may act without advance notice where notice would undermine safety, an investigation, or a legal obligation. We may also end limited beta access as described above.
Termination does not waive a privacy right, valid refund, or other accrued right. Rights and obligations concerning previously delivered content, permitted record retention, intellectual property, and disputes continue to the extent needed for their purpose and permitted by law.
12 Service limitations and liability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, every user's conduct, or a particular delivery date. Except for express commitments in these Terms and rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, the service is provided as available without additional warranties concerning fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Letterhenge is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or losses arising solely from another user's independent conduct or events outside our reasonable control. These limitations do not excuse any valid payment or refund obligation or exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or other protected claims where applicable.
Nothing in these Terms waives mandatory consumer rights or remedies, and any exclusion applies only to the extent enforceable in the relevant circumstances.
13 Resolving disputes
For an account, billing, fulfillment, or legal complaint, contact support@letterhenge.com with enough detail for us to investigate and a way to respond. We will seek a practical resolution. Informal contact does not prevent you from using an available payment dispute, regulatory complaint, court remedy, or other right and does not suspend a legal deadline.
These Terms impose no mandatory arbitration, class-action waiver, exclusive venue, or contractual claim deadline. Applicable law and any mandatory consumer protections continue to govern.
14 Changes to these Terms and general provisions
We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and request renewed acceptance where required. Updated Terms will not retroactively impose a charge for beta participation or remove an accrued right.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it generally. These Beta Terms govern the website and limited beta service, subject to the Apple Standard EULA and TestFlight terms where applicable and mandatory law. They do not replace a valid separate agreement for an existing transaction.
